Course Work
I graduated high school in 1990, and this many years later, I decided to go to college to get my degree, and become a school teacher. The process of going to school after being out in the “real world” for so many years has been a truly exciting and very different experience for me. The classes I am taking are interesting, informative, and have introduced to me many new things that I never even imagined I would be learning. I have learned how important it is to be able to speak in public and be confident while doing so. As a future teacher, I will be speaking daily to my students, to their parents, and to other educators. Organizational skills are also a vital part of a becoming a teacher. I am a student right now, but in a few short years I will have my own students, and I will want to instill into them something that my father always tried to instill into my brother, sister and I. My father always said that going to school and getting good grades was our job and responsibility. That is something I want my students to realize as well. Schooling and course work is just a stepping stone to getting a good job and career. My father was a great role model and motivator in my life, and I want to be the same for my future students.
