“An understanding heart is everything in a teacher, and cannot be esteemed highly enough. One looks back with appreciation to the brilliant teachers, but with gratitude to those who touched our human feeling. The curriculum is so much necessary raw material, but warmth is the vital element for the growing plant and for the soul of the child.”

Carl Jung

School days!  School days!  Reading, writing, arithmetic!  These indeed are all very necessary requirements for a student to learn in school.  I, as an aspiring elementary/special education teacher realize this is the most important task that I must accomplish.  I aim to teach my students all they need to know in order to excel in their studies, but I also want them to look back years later, and view me as a kind, caring, warm, dedicated, compassionate and understanding teacher.  I want my students to know that I am there for them, and want each one of them to succeed to their fullest potential.  I believe that “warmth is the vital element for the growing plant and for the soul of the child.”
